A manipulated deepfake video, featuring the former Malaysian Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, was circulated on TikTok in June 2025. The video allegedly depicted him endorsing or receiving funds from an individual known as 'Datuk Abdul Ghani'. Authorities confirmed the video as a deepfake created using AI technology. Acryl Sani filed a police report to deny these claims. The Selangor police are currently investigating the case under fraud and communications laws, underscoring the need for trustworthy AI practices.
