Alleged Harmful Health Outcomes Following Reported Use of Purported ChatGPT-Generated Medical Advice in Hyderabad

November 10, 2025

Recent reports from Hyderabad detail two cases of alleged patient harm due to reliance on purportedly ChatGPT-generated medical advice instead of professional guidance. A kidney-transplant recipient is said to have discontinued prescribed post-transplant medications following a chatbot's suggestion, resulting in graft failure. In another instance, a man with diabetes is reported to have developed severe hyponatremia after adhering to a chatbot-advised zero-salt diet.
