Japan court rules against Google in Autocomplete Defamation Case

A Japanese court has handed down a decision in favor of the plaintiff, ruling that Google Inc. is liable for defamatory search results generated by its autocomplete feature. The case, which dates back to 2014, centers around an individual whose name was auto-completed with defamatory phrases when users searched for his name on Google Japan's platform.
