Megalopolis Trailer Included Fake AI-Generated Quotes Attributed to Film Critics

August 21, 2024

Lionsgate removed the trailer for 'Megalopolis' following discovery of fake quotes attributed to film critics, generated by AI. The quotes falsely critiqued Francis Ford Coppola's previous films and were an error in marketing consultant Eddie Egan's vetting process. Lionsgate has since terminated its relationship with Egan and apologized to Coppola and the affected critics. This incident underscores the importance of trustworthy AI governance, a key focus of Project Cerebellum.
