Purported AI-Manipulated News Clip Fabricates Explosion and Doctor's Murder Plot for Scam

January 20, 2025

A deceptive video, allegedly manipulated by AI, was circulated on Facebook. The clip purported to show Citizen TV anchor Swaleh Mdoe reporting a bombing at a Kenyan doctor's home, which was fabricated using AI-generated audio and visuals. The conspiracy depicted in the video falsely implicated pharmaceutical companies in targeting the fictitious doctor for promoting a 'miracle cure.' In truth, the explosion footage was sourced from Ohio, the doctor did not exist, and the content aimed to swindle viewers into buying an unproven health product.
