Quantum AI Scam Reportedly Used AI-Generated Celebrity Endorsements and Spoofed Media Sites to Solicit Investments

January 1, 2020

A transnational investment fraud network, Quantum AI, has been accused of using AI-generated deepfakes, fake news sites, phishing pages, and spoofed calls to deceive victims. The scheme allegedly falsifies celebrity endorsements, news outlets, and political leader images, promoting untrustworthy trading platforms. This results in victims transferring money that is difficult or impossible to recover.

Quantum AI's activities underscore the urgent need for responsible AI governance and safe and secure practices. HISPI Project Cerebellum TAIM invites you to join us in mapping, measuring, and managing such incidents as we work together towards trustworthy and accountable AI.
