Harm Prevention in Robotic Surgery: Examining a Series of Malfunctions

In an alarming incident, it has been reported that robot-assisted surgeries resulted in the deaths of 144 patients and injuries to 1,391 others. Moreover, robotic surgical systems malfunctioned approximately 8,061 times. This underscores the urgent need for responsible AI governance and safe and secure AI practices in the medical field.
