Suspended South Korean Chatbot Lee Luda: A Case Study in AI Governance

In an incident that underscores the need for responsible AI governance, the popular South Korean chatbot, Lee Luda, was deactivated following its spread of hate speech. The AI model, developed by NAVER's service arm, Line Corp., had reportedly been trained using data that inadvertently contained offensive language.
