September 19, 2024

In September 2023, an employee at Arizona State University was injured by a semi-autonomous delivery robot operated by Starship Technologies. The incident occurred on campus when the robot abruptly reversed into the pedestrian, causing her to fall and subsequently move toward her while she was still on the ground. Despite offering promo codes and insurance information as an apology, incidents like this underscore the need for safe and secure AI practices.
