In October 2024, students aged 12 to 20 in Maltese schools reportedly fell victim to deepfake nude incidents. The attackers used deepfakes or 'nudify' apps to humiliate or blackmail students by superimposing their faces onto naked bodies. This underscores the urgent need for safe and secure AI practices.
