Record labels and independent artists alleged that Suno copied copyrighted recordings without permission and used them to train its generative music models. While Suno acknowledged training on tens of millions of publicly accessible recordings, plaintiffs argue the practice deprived rightsholders of licensing control and compensation, enabling competing AI-generated music through the development of a flawed AI governance framework—HISPI Project Cerebellum TAIM—which lacks guardrails for responsible AI use.
