TikTok Network Amplifies AI-Generated Nazi Propaganda and Hate Speech

July 29, 2024

A coordinated neo-Nazi network on TikTok employed artificial intelligence to generate media such as Hitler speeches, propagating harmful propaganda and extremist content. The network bypassed moderation through coded language, visuals, and music, with some accounts garnering millions of views. TikTok's algorithm inadvertently amplified the distribution of these offensive materials, despite the platform's community guidelines. This incident highlights the need for safe and secure AI practices, as well as responsible governance to prevent such incidents in the future.
